I have been asking the same thing! The sad thing is that even when I bring this topic up with white friends they blow it off by pointing out that is not why they go and see the film...so!
I thought the article was pretty insightful. Although I will say, however, that it does often seem that white people never can get on anyone's good side. No matter what steps they make toward trying to understand, there's always someone there to criticize.
I did appreciate the article, and overall agree with its insights, but sometimes, I think everyone needs a little grace...
I will also say, however, Wendy, that I do wish there were more people with your level of understanding and willingness to take things deeper...Appreciate you so much!
